Moab Silhoette I - (#54)

"This image truly was. one in one million and one of my favorites. Many times I have been in Arches in Moab. hoping to see such a scene. While I waited for the right moment. not knowing if there would be a sunset. gentle breezes picked up. As the temperture changed. I could see some soft billowing clouds forming over the valley.

To my delight. the clouds moved in with unusual patterns. as if they were gently erupting from the rock formations. I waited until the very last moment to get the most color saturation. As I noticed far off in the distance. a row of arches and rock formations were highlighting in fiery red colors. I could feel my heart beat a little faster. I was fortunate to be able to be there and capture this beautiful image. In 2005. this photograph. won first at the Monte L. Bean Museum Exhibition. in Provo."
