"This is what is called a Slot Canyon. formed by rain water from storms as far as 50 miles away. Rushing water floods the crevasse. carving its way. to the opening at the end. Many photographers have perished as they were caught by such flooding. unaware a storm so far away. was able to send fatal flood waters their way.
Due to almost non-existent light in some areas. exposure times can be hard to determine. The spectacular colors come from reciprocity failure taking place with the longer exposures. sometimes as long as 30 minutes or more. I was fortunate to be able to decipher both. a way to get the correct exposure and good clarity."
